I had a conversation this week with a potential client, she has previously only worked with larger research agencies, but came to me via a colleague’s recommendation. Understandably she has some concerns about moving away from a larger research team.
Ultimately it will be personal preference, but here are the reasons why she (and you) might choose to work with me rather than a larger agency …
Continuity
You will work with me from start to finish.
It’s only me, so I won’t be handing you over to someone else as soon as the project is commissioned.
You get access to my research brain throughout the whole process. I’ll talk you through the brief, work with you to get the research started and it will be me who presents the findings back to you.
Research tailored to you
The project will be tailored to your specific requirements.
I don’t work with a template, so you won’t be buying elements you don’t need, nor will I be trying to shoehorn your problem into a pre-made research package.
We will discuss EXACTLY what you need to discover, and then the project will be designed to cover those areas.
Cost effective research
It’s likely to be less costly, there are a few reasons for this
-
- I’m based at home so there are no large office overheads
- You won’t be paying for things you don’t need
- If something is outside of my area of expertise, then instead of billing you for my learning time, I’ll pass it on to someone who is an expert
Speed
Projects can get into field relatively quickly.
A simple research project can be commissioned in the morning and into field in the afternoon – I don’t have to get sign off from other departments, nor will there be a last minute “Can I just change xyz?” from this side. When I’m happy then it’s all systems go.
Of course there are some instances when choosing a smaller agency isn’t the best fit – if you need 1000 telephone interviews conducted by the weekend, or if your research is likely to attract media attention and you want the association of a big brand name – then I’m not the best person to work with.
When you are ready to commission your next project then I’d love to chat through how I can help – www.acemr.co.uk/contact
